To determine ways to rationalise the cultures and time scales of different industries, in particular the in-built obsolescence of fashion and the development time-lines of technology.
To establish a common forum for eliciting 21st century priorities and issues for further research, and to prepare and submit research funding proposals for new product development and design research.
