Phil Gosset
Vodafone
Phil Gosset has been working in R&D at Vodafone since 1997. From 1998 onwards he has been leading the work exploring the impact of mobile communications on society, and is now head of the User Insight workstream within R&D. He contributes to both the global future vision work which investigates future trends and developments and their impact, and also the consumer insight team whose work uses socio-economic methods and research to gain insight into the mobile society. His initial role at Vodafone was looking at 3G security and fraud, and also to explore potential new areas of research for R&D. Before joining Vodafone he designed and developed a rule-based fraud detection system, and prior to this he worked in the field of theoretical quantum physics.
